Kindergarten in Benguela

Children aged 3 to 5 years can attend kindergarten here for two years and acquire their first skills through playing.

The kindergarten consists of four common rooms with the corresponding play and school needs. Classes begin daily at 07.30 am with games and singing as well as a short pedagogical introduction. Then four groups are formed, which are accompanied by teachers by the morning program. This is individually designed and includes storytelling, handicrafts, painting, games, and singing.

In the break, the children receive a warm meal: rice pudding, semolina, noodles, matete and the like. The meal is extremely important for the development of the children. This regular meal has led to a reduction in the death rate of children in Benguela.

Currently, 150 children attend kindergarten. With the donations, a simple outdoor playground could also be built.
