Country of wealth and poverty: Once across Angola

The film, meeting with the photographer Karlheinz Fessl and presentation of IniciativAngola

For the first time, the Carinthian aid organisation IniciativAngola is showing an elaborately designed photo traveling exhibition with 40 pictures, which can currently be seen in the Christkönig-Kirche Krumpendorf. The internationally experienced photographer Karlheinz Fessl from Klagenfurt traveled through Angola to do this. Impressive photos from the monstrous city of Luanda as well as fragile, personal photographic impressions from Benguela, Calulo, Muxima or Kifangondo are shown. Fessl comments critically on the political conditions in the simultaneously rich and poor Southwest African state and shows how the donations of the Carinthian NGO are used locally. InicativAngola supports the African Don Bosco sisters, who in turn tackle tasks that the state would rather have to carry out: they run schools, orphanages, medical wards and kindergartens, support literacy campaigns and grant microcredits. On Wednesday, November 13, 2019, the country, the work of the Don Bosco Sisters, the commitment of IniciativAngola (on-site and in Carinthia) will be presented in words, pictures and films. On this evening the photographer Karlheinz Fessl will give a report on his experiences and the association IniciativAngola will present its current projects and the new calendar.
